Government Publishes Exemptions Request Notice for Allocation Round 7

The government has published the Exemptions Request Notice for Allocation Round 7 (AR7). This notice sets out the procedure that excluded generators must follow if they wish to apply to be exempted from their temporary site exclusion in order to be eligible to participate in AR7. As noted in the timeline, which we have also published today, AR7 is due to open in August 2025.

The Exemptions Request Notice includes details of:

• The information to be included in an exemption request
• The deadline by which a request for an exemption certificate must be received by the Secretary of State (i.e. the “closing date”)
• Where such requests should be sent

Details of excluded sites are placed on the Register of Temporary Site Exclusion published and updated from time to time by the Low Carbon Contracts Company, the CfD counterparty.
